Smilla Veterinary Diet Urinary is a therapeutic complete wet cat food. This tasty grain-free food is specifically formulated to suit the nutritional needs of adult cats with a tendency towards urinary stones. These stones are often caused by a concentration of minerals in the urine and can result in inflammation of the urethra and bladder. It can also cause clogging of the urethra in male cats. Symptoms may include frequent urination, often only small amounts, and sometimes outside the litter tray. You may also notice traces of blood in the urine and that your cat is not as clean as it was. This wet food contains a balanced ratio of minerals that helps to keep the urine slightly acidic to help prevent formation of further urinary stones. Smilla Veterinary Diet Urinary dietetic food is grain-free so it is suitable for cats that are grain and gluten intolerant.

Great for my cat with FLUTD
Since realising that the usual urinary food I was feeding my cat had sugar in it, I decided to try this hoping that her symptoms wouldn't flare back up. So far so good, 2 weeks in and no symptoms and she loves it.

Quality has deteriorated
Happy as thought real meat no grain and struvite reducing but several trays recently inedible. Seem to be stomach wall or guts or something totally undigestable by the cat who used to love it. I don't think it's proper meat and Poultry but rather meet by-products and awful and lining some intestines and stomach

Fussy cats
My cats have gone off Hills science diet. Royal Canin etc. so decided to try this. They sniffed it (I added a bit of water just so they drink more) and held my breath. Thankfully both gobbled it up. So pleased I tried.

Fab!
After spending so much on high end food for my cat that suffers with urinary blockages I thought I would try this one. My cat absolutely loves it… when you add extra water it turns into a gravy! Increases water intake and mixed with dry biscuits! Glad I tried it! :)

review
It is the second time I have purchased this product after not finding Animonda's product and I am really happy. One of them has few teeth and a urinary crystal medical story and eats it happily.

May cats live it.
The only urinary food my cats won’t go off on. I tried many brands with my cats, this is the only brand they continuously enjoy without going off. The price is also great. The problem is they are out of stock, have been for quite some time too!

Fussy cat loves this
My fussy cat, who will eat food for a while & then go off it, loves this and always happily eats it. Had no issues with struvite stones since he’s been eating this.

Gave my cat diarrhoea!
I tried this because it is so much cheaper than Hills and my cat loves it. However, it really upsets her stomach, which is a surprise as she’s had lots of different Smilla foods over the years. Unfortunately I bought quite a lot, so I persevered with it. I tried mixing it with her usual food too but the problem persisted. I’m going to have to donate the remaining packs to charity, so it’s ended up way more expensive!

Not my cat's choice
My cat has refused to eat this product, leaving me with a whole stock of it and out of pocket. She's not normally this fussy, so I simply can't recommend it.

Fussy cat loves it!
My 15 year old cat with bladder stone problems turned his nose up at five different urinary brands before we discovered Smilla. He loves it and now eats well.
