Please note: It is important that wooden dens are cleaned and treated regularly otherwise the wood may dry out, become brittle or warped or start to look unsightly. We recommend applying further coats of wood preserver if the hutch is to be left outside. Please make sure that you use non-toxic products. To make sure your cat den stays looking good, it is a good idea to position it in a protected area which is not exposed to the elements.

Brilliant little house - my cat loves it!
This has been a great purchase. Both our cats love it and use it regularly. Our littlest one spends hours lying on the top deck watching the world go by. We painted the sections before assembling. It was pretty easy to put together and still looks great over a year on.

It's made of asphalt. Don't want cats breathing that in on a hot day in a confined space.

Great house, poor roof.
As other reviews have mentioned, the roof has collapsed in on itself. The house itself is good quality but the roof really lets it down.
Other than this, our cat loves the house (although he never actually goes inside the house bit!) he prefers to sit in the balcony area and observe his garden, which makes the poor roof even more of a problem.
It was easy to put together though and if the roof design improves I will definitely get another one.

Extremely disappointed with this product. The last one lasted longer because it was under cover, although I had to have the roof repaired after about a year.
Last year \i bought another one last summer and the roof is going again. Wont be buying anymore

Concept Great but Poor Design
My cat absolutely loves this, but after having used it every day to sun himself on the roof, the roof has collapsed and caved in.
If you study the photo, you will see the roof is not supported in all 4 corners, it is only supported up to where the trellis ends, above the door, with the same support at the rear. The area above the steps have no support whatsoever, and this is the preferred area for my sat to lounge.
The rest of the house is still in perfect condition.

A few things to consider...
*edit* The site won't allow me to add jpeg pics to the Customer Photos because it says they're not jpegs! It's pretty solid, but one piece was damaged slightly (see pics) and my hubby had to put an extra screw in to hold the veranda onto the main part because it was wobbly (see pic with extra screw circled). Also no rubber feet to protect from rot and I was concerned that the roof screws might let water in, so hubby put sealant in them. Just a few things to consider if you buy this item.

Great whole it lasted
Looks great and my cats love it, still do. But after about 18months or so the roof started to fall in on it's self, it's rotted. The rest of the house is in tact though.. can't really say it's weather proof.

Looks good but smaller than expected
I repainted with garden furniture paint after seeing other reviews and love how it looks. However it did seem smaller than I was expecting once I put it together. Cats love it though so that's the main thing!

The Bear Hut
I read the reviews before purchasing and decided to completely repaint and add additional waterproofing to the roof before assembling. Cost the same again in paints etc and took a full week but I am very pleased with the outcome and confident it will last a good few years needing a touch up. Well worth the effort

Nice, well made product
I and my cat and neighbours cat love this outdoor cat house. Great that it has an upper viewing level balcony. The cats love to view from there, especially in wet weather. My cat uses it regularly. Nice to have an undercover, weatherproofed area to put food if needed. My cat has been in the bottom den, but not for long. Nice to know that there is a protected safe cat shelter for mine and neighbours cat to use. Sturdy and good price, cheapervthan i have seen elsewhere. Fairly simple to sssemble.

Great ... while it lasts
Bought this for my cat, looked great, she loved it.
But within 2 years the roof had completely rotted and fallen in on itself. (I do live in Scotland so get a lot of rain) But until that point thought it was great
I might re-order and try to find a way to protect the roof a bit more

The Bear Hut
I didnt like the colours of this condo and reading the reviews its not as weather proof as it could be. HOWEVER Zooplus has the best price and I really liked the idea of the sheltered roof terrace so i ordered one.
As expected for the price its not great quality so before putting it together I painted it and waterproofed the felt on the roof for good measure. It looks much better and should now last years and years :-D

Cat house
I got this for my two cats. I had a bit of difficulty putting it together but only because i put one of the base pieces the wrong way wrong. Otherwise it was quite methodical and i am pleased with the results.

Happy hideaway
Well packed all screws etc with packaging and instructions took 1 hour 3 minutes just me doing it it would have been quicker but I just needed to put an extra screw in because a slight gap On the lattice on stairs needed to drill it other wise wood would have spilt

Not worth the price - poor quality
I purchased this as we have no shade in our garden for the cats.
Whilst the design and size of it s perfect, I am disappointed with the quality of the item.
I had to rescrew several nails that had become loose and there were pieces of wood and particles off the roof all over the box which was a right mess. There is also several indents and scratches to the wood.
They are using it so will be keeping but I don't think the price is just.

Still going strong
I got one about eight years ago, it was looking like it had seen better days but I’ve painted it recently with a garden furniture paint and it’s now got a new lease of life. I agree with other posters about the roof as even though ours is under partial cover in a catio, the roof has been leaking and could do with some replacement roof material.

Awesome cat house.
Very straightforward to assemble. I am useless at flat pack but even I managed to put this together on my own. One of my cats is blind so I must admit that when I bought this I wondered if it would be a waste of money like so many cat beds etc I've bought that the cats ignore and prefer the box it came in. Day 2 and I found my blind cat sleeping on the first floor and she loves it. She even slept there in the recent hot nights. My other cat also likes it so I might have to get another one!!

Happy
Bought my first cat maisonette 6 years ago. Had to have the roof repaired a few years ago but the cats love to hang out under the roof in the rain. Now time to buy another one as it is giving up the ghost. The only trouble it took two of us to put it together last time, now there is only me
