Applaws Adult Chicken is an ideally balanced dry food for adult cats. The composition is based on the natural nutritional requirements of cats, which is why the main ingredient is tasty chicken meat of the best quality.
A very high meat content of 80% provides your cat with valuable animal proteins that it can utilise particularly well. This food is also 100% grain-free, making it ideal for cats with food sensitivities and allergies. Applaws contains no animal by-products - only high-quality muscle meat. The addition of salmon oil, which is particularly rich in valuable omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, can ensure a shiny coat and healthy skin.

Tried others but always come back to Applaws
We've been feeding applaws on and off since our boys were kittens. Our remaining boy still loves this, and it's good for his sensitive tummy.
I was surprised to see so many bad reviews on this food, as its always been so good for us, even this newest bag. Whenever we change foods, we do it gradually over weeks, so as not to upset his tummy.

Upset stomach
Tryed my cat on this and he’s had an upset stomach and won’t really touch it normally he demolishes his food.

Changed recipe
My cat always enjoyed this food until recently. The biscuits have changed from flat disks to small, hard pellet-like things. When he goes to his bowl he'll eat a few, then start spitting them out. I'm not sure if the taste, shape or both he doesn't like. After persevering for a couple of weeks (he gets wet food too!) I offered him an alternative brand which he happily ate. Another reviewer mentioned the 400g bags are still ok, but that's what I bought so perhaps they're all like this now.

Vomiting
I’ve been using this for a while but this last month my cat has been vomiting daily with the new bag i got and after reading the reviews im going to have to stop giving it to her as its probably this causing it after reading all the reviews

Cats refuse to eat it
My cats have been on Applaws for over 2 years. My older cat is a fussy eater, but the little one eats everything. Both of them has been refusing to eat this particular food (chicken only)

Wouldn't eat it
My cat used to eat this before the recall a couple of years ago but I hadn't bought it for a while. Thought I'd give it another go but she just wouldn't eat it so gave it to my local rescue. Won't be buying again

Large bag had to be thrown
Used Applaws chicken for my NFC for almost 3 years but the last large bag I ordered he will not eat (neither does our neighbour's cat and he used to enjoy sharing!) Should have taken notice of the reviews!!!

My 2 love this food,proper meat content...looks good enough to eat myself lol
Don't know where all these reviews come from making your cat sick....its human grade food I just don't get how it can make them sick it's got simple real ingredients

2 cats. Diarrhea and drool (nausea)
Wet cat food shredded meat with rice package gave my cat nausea and drooling after eating then my other cat has had diarrhea all night.

Great, but only the smaller bags.
My cat is intolerant to most cat food but tolerates this well, however, I will now only buy it in 2kg bags.
Several times I have had problems with the 7.5kg bags with the food having gone off. When I contacted the manufacturer they said they had a problem with the packaging and were looking into it.

Damp food???
I had high hopes for this food but on being opened, the food was damp. My one cat kept vomiting it up. Neither was keen on it.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR CAT THIS- COST ME £1200 IN VET BILLS
CAUSED PROBLEMS FOR MY CAT CONSTANT DIARREHA MADE MY CAT UNWELL FOR WEEKS, COULDN'T WORK OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON. TOOK TO VETS DID SCANS ECT WHICH COST A HUGE AMOUNT- AFTER NOT GIVING IT TO MY CATS ANYMORE FINE FOR 2 MONTHS- GIVE IT TO THEM AGAIN FOR ONE DAY BACK TO HOW IT WAS.

Didn't work for Milo
It might have been a good product but not sure why, my cat has been steadily losing weight since I put him on Applaws chicken only. So had to switch to another brand altogether, Milo didn't seem too sad about the change, won't buy again.

Smaller bag is different to the big ones
Purchased smaller size bag which was good and kittens loved it. Decided to order the 10kg bag. Once opened it wasn't the same content as the smaller bag, size & colour was different. Kittens didn't eat it.

worried
Have used Applaws grain free chicken with rescues with sensitive tummies but after the recall and the large number of feline deaths last Summer and terrified to use it now although it has bee n very good

Only food I can count on
My two young cats have been very fussy with what they will eat and one also has a very sensitive tummy. This has made it a nightmare trying to find a food that they both like and can both digest. This along with Feringa wet food is the only food that they enjoy and agrees with their tummies. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent
Have 7 year old rescue cat who only eats dry food. Wanted her to eat more healthy meat based food. At first she completely refused but slow transition, literally teaspoon at a time mixed with old food over 2 weeks, she now loves Applaws. Hardly have any vomiting now, she hasn't had a hairball in ages. So much better than on previous low meat brands.

Bad Recipe Change
My cats used to eat this, but not anymore. Most definitely a change in recipe. Why change somthing for the worst its the same with human food they have to mess when it's not needed. I have EMAILED APPLAWS AND SO SHOULD EVERYONE ELSE HOPEFULLY THEY WILL GET THE MESSAGE AND RETURN TO OLD RECIPE.

Allergic reaction?
After reading the other reviews, we're now wondering if one of our cats has had an allergic reaction. Sadly, we've just finished giving them the sample bag. She's almost 2 years old and starting scratching and pulling out her fur. She's on her second lot of antibiotics and and had a bald patch on her head and sores on her neck, legs and bottom. The vets ruled out any sort of parasite. I was just about to buy a bigger bag, but won't now, just in case.
