Royal Canin Veterinary - Renal Select Feline is a dry food which has been formulated to aid renal function in cats suffering with chronic kidney disease. It is also suitable if your cat has temporary renal insufficiency. Older cats often suffer with kidney disease. There are many reasons for this and it is not always easy to diagnose renal disease at an early stage. If your pet has been diagnosed with kidney insufficiency it is a good idea to feed it with dietary food on a permanent basis as this helps to reduce progressive damage to the kidneys. Cats with kidney disorders often suffer with appetite loss. Royal Canin Renal Select kibble has a crunchy shell and a soft core so it is appetising and very palatable. It will encourage your cat to eat. It has a high energy density to help limit weight loss. It also contains EPA and DHA as well as an antioxidant complex and it has a low phosphorus content. The adapted high quality protein content helps to reduce the kidney workload.
General information:

- Prophylactic prevention of calcium oxalate stones with simultaneous renal insufficiency
- Pregnancy, lactation, kittens
- Dietetic management of chronic kidney disease: Formulated to support kidney function in case of chronic renal disease. With EPA and DHA, an antioxidant complex and low phosphorus content
- Reduces kidney workload: An increased kidney workload can lead to a uremic crisis. This food has an adapted high quality protein content which helps to reduce the kidney workload.
- High energy content: The high energy density of the kibble helps to limit weight loss.
- Well accepted: The tasty food is highly palatable and will tempt your cat to eat.
Length of treatment:
- If your cat is suffering from chronic renal insufficiency it is advisable to keep your cat on this diet for the rest of its life. Please make sure your cat is checked regularly. Early dietetic measures are recommended.
Therapeutic veterinary diets are carefully formulated and recommended to be used in conjunction with veterinary advice and support.

Excellent product most convenient to use our chalkey likes the taste and smell very reasonable price and healthy diet specially with his renal problem

Excellent renal product!!
We tried various dietary foods for our cat as he was being sick alot and had dodgy stomach, but nothing seemed to fix it. He was also dropping weight alot because of this. Further tests showed that his renal behaviour was lower than it should be so we were advised by our vets to try these. Wow, what a difference!! Firstly we were warned that he might not like the taste, yet wolfed them down!!! And secondly he kept them down, his sickness became less and poos became solid again. Very impressed!

Seems very palatable
I have 2 sixteen year old cats, one of whom had renal failure. Bought this as vet said specialist renal diet might help turn his kidneys around. It was a qualified success - I tried all 3 RCV formulations as renal cats can be very fussy eaters. They ate it, but it was least popular of the 3 RCV varieties.
Can't comment on efficacy for renal support, as Kaspar died from kidney failure within a few weeks of my purchase.

Very palatable
Tried this recently with my cat Boris who won't eat wet renal foods and he loves it. So good to see him eating well as his renal problems have caused serious weight loss

Very Good Croquettes .
My 19 year old cat treated for an IRC for almost 9 years he was never a greedy cat, but rather delicate, he experienced the best kidney kibble brands including many that he did not like. But as soon as he tasted them, he appreciated and adopted them.

All my cats love it, even if they do not have to eat it
One of my 4 cats has severe renal disease and she is extremely picky with the food. Fortunately she eats this dry food although I haven't had that luck with the wet food of the same brand. Also my other 3 cats like this food too, they are always trying to steal some.

Cat loves it
My 18 year old cat was diagnosed with early stages of renal disease 6 months ago and had been gradually losing some weight. Started to give this Renal select a few weeks ago and it is perfect. She loves it, and has finally gained some weight and her blood/urine results are stable.

My cats like to eat this
I've been feeding my cats exclusively kidney diet foods since Oct 15. Sally likes dry food and gets Royal Canin Renal Select Feline - she likes it very much, it agrees with her really well and her blood tests have got better and better! She's a balanced, happy cat and the vet is very happy with her test results. I give this maximum points.

Love this food
We used to use HappyCat Kidney dry food. Unfortunately Gina (Siamese, age 17) was sick every morning. Since starting her on RCRSF (4 weeks ago) she hasn't been sick once. She also eats a lot more. That's not bad for a senior kitty with kidney trouble. Absolutely top! We're sticking with it!

A kibble my cat actually likes
Trying to get my cat who has chronic kidney disease to eat what she needs in the way of special veterinary recommended foods has been very difficult. She turns up her nose at practically everything offered. My vet and I both agree that it must have something to do with her taste buds or even an unpleasant taste in her mouth as a result of her condition. I asked my vet's advice about this product and he said I could safely order it. I'm so pleased I did because my little girl enjoys it.

Agrees with my cat
My cat Sheldon is on a kidney diet. Most special foods are simply ignored or tolerated for a while. He's really choosy. I'm ordering this food for the second time now - success!
