Customers appreciate this cat litter for its effective clumping and odour control, making it a long-time favorite for many. However, recent changes in formula have led to dissatisfaction, with complaints about reduced clumping, increased dust, and tracking issues. Despite these negatives, some users still find it economical and environmentally friendly, praising its lightweight nature and absorbency. Overall, while it has its drawbacks, the litter remains a popular choice for its original benefits.

Changed Formula
I have been buying this litter for a long time and it was very good quality but sadly the last two bags seem to have a completely different texture and don't clump the urine as before. Also i have noticed my two long haired cats seem to be constantly cleaning and biting their paws as if they are being irritated. I will be choosing another brand from now on.

Product has changed
We loved this product for a long time, it clumped brilliantly and contained the smell. They've changed it recently, it's lighter in colour, doesn't clump and doesn't keep in the smell. When you go to pick up a clump, it falls apart and spreads across the clean litter. Such a shame as it was a great product before they messed with it.

Not suitable at all
The litter doesn’t form solid clumps. Over time, it gets soggier and small litter particles end up scattered all over the house.
It smells pretty bad after a week.
Unfortunately, not recommended.

Composition different
The cat litter is no longer what it used to be. It creates an absolute mess because it looks like wood chips and sticks to their paws accordingly.

Quality
I've been using this litter for about 5 years now, but unfortunately, the quality keeps getting worse. It no longer clumps properly, sometimes it's just little pee crumbs, which makes it start smelling faster! Please go back to the old quality 🙏

Does not contain the smell
I bought a new bag and have been using it for a couple of weeks but it's changed. I noticed it's darker and when my cats use it the smell is overpowering. The previous bags I've had slumped well and masked the smells. Very disappointed.

Advantages and Disadvantages
Advantage: the price, I got the big bag for our 4 cats. Disadvantage: the granules are too large, so it’s not as absorbent as fine litter, which also means more waste volume in the bin. I couldn’t find a suitable scoop that effectively sifts it. I’ll stick to fine wood litter. It’s easy to sift with the metal scoop, takes up less space in the bin, absorbs more, and spreads just as much or as little outside the litter box as the coarse wood litter. Plus, it’s easier to spot when there are clumps in it.

Not satisfied at all
I’ve tested a lot of products, but this is by far the worst litter. Unfortunately, the litter doesn’t bind odours at all, even with multiple cleanings a day. It has a strong, sour smell of its own, and the clumping is also far from ideal. I’ve now found a fantastic litter that both my two cats and I are very happy with.

Not the best
clumps well, however, not very absorbent unless you deep fill the litter tray with this. My older cat (aged 14) is not very keen on this cat litter, doesn't seem to like to get it on his paws. Also, this cat litter gets all over the house! It is the worst one I have ever known for ending up all over the floor and being spread around the house via paws and feet!

In principle good - BUT
The inconsistent quality of this basically good cat litter is truly unbearable. Sometimes the clumping is excellent, then other times it falls apart as soon as you touch it!
For such an expensive product, I expect consistently good quality.

Quality has declined
Unfortunately, the litter has drastically declined in quality. It's incredibly dusty, which has become a real problem for one of our cats, and the granularity is so fine that the clumps no longer form properly.

Smells and kicks up dust
The litter starts to smell quickly and is extremely dusty! I've never had a litter that was as dusty as this one. Moreover, it sticks to the paws and ends up all over the flat. The only good thing I can say is that it's very economical.

Quality used to be better...
Unfortunately, the quality of the product has deteriorated significantly. It doesn't clump properly, the smell is no longer absorbed effectively, and it produces an excessive amount of dust.

Unfortunately, not dust-free. :-(
We wanted to switch to a natural litter and decided on this one. Unfortunately, it’s not dust-free at all. It produces more dust than our previous bentonite litter. Because of this, our kitten keeps reverse sneezing, which is really unpleasant. Now we’re stuck with an opened 40-litre bag that we can’t use any further. On top of that, the clumps fall apart very easily. At least it’s low odour.

I can only agree with the others 😏
I find it really disappointing that the quality has dropped so much, because I used to be super satisfied with the litter. As others have already mentioned, it doesn’t clump properly anymore, which means you have to do a fiddly job picking out the leftovers – and with three cats, that gets really annoying over time 🙃. It’s also started to produce way too much dust. Oh well, I’m now looking for another alternative that can be disposed of in the toilet. Such a shame.

Very coarse cat litter
Our tomcat avoids the cat litter and resists it. Far too expensive for the quality.

cat litter
It's not suitable for my cats. While it doesn't smell and hardly creates any dust, my cats no longer bury their waste, and it often sticks to their paws, which isn't very pleasant.

Cats Best Cat Litter
Not suitable for my cats, they don't like it and don't even bury their droppings anymore.

Quality has declined
As an alternative to bentonite cat litter, we decided to try Cats Best Original, and our cats took to the new litter quite well. However, with the last order, one of the bags contained litter that was very coarse-grained and didn’t clump properly. When scooping it out, the clumps fell apart very quickly, leaving residues in the litter.
We find it disappointing that the quality has declined so much, and we are now looking for a new plant fibre-based clumping litter.
