Kitten loves this toy the only problem is it should turn its self off after 3 mins but mine doesn't

My kitten loves this from the first second !

Our cats love this toy, but we've had the same problem as some other reviewers, when the butterfly starts to spin around really fast, and doesn't flutter any more. My husband is an engineer and worked out how to fix it. Here's what to do: 1. Ensure the wire is a loose fit in the white plastic button it's attached to, ie the wire should move freely within the button, before you attach the button to the base. 2. Bend the wire in different places, esp. at the butterfly end, until it flutters.

My first cat was not at all keen on this.The butterfly moves way to fast. We attached some ribbons to it to slow it down a bit which worked but still my cat wasn't overly fussed. When I tried it with my second cat, he had more fun with it but he did end up bending the wire on the first butterfly near the base within the first twenty mins of play. In short wouldn't recommend. Scary to timid cats and not strong enough for more rough and tumble cats.

Another great toy from Zooplus. My foster kittens will play with this for ages and ages, eventually they sit on the butterfly!

I have 3 cats who were terrified of the manic butterfly toy, then a little neighbourhood cat came in and showed them how to play with it! So now I have 1 cat who can't get enough of playing with it and 2 cats who slink past the toy on their tummies when it's turned off, when it's turned on they leave the room! Originally got the toy for my eldest female as she has a lovely habit of grabbing real butterflies in the garden and eating them whole!! Ick! It's something I just cannot unsee now!

A simple and effective cat toy. My cat loves it whether its on or off. Don't stop selling it. She has already killed two of the butterflies much to her pleasure.

My cats loved this toy. My bengal loved to sit and let the butterfly tickle her face. Unfortunately it stopped working after about a week, like some of the other reviews have stated. Checked batteries, but it was dead as a dodo. Which is a shame. I'd say go for a more expensive version, but I bought one off Amazon and that too has stopped working (different issue).

This is a really effective toy and the cats love playing with it.

Maya (4months British Shorthair) absolutely loves it! I couldn't imagine any better toy other than this one. Oh yes... The feathery one which is one of her fav too from this website! Amazing!

My cats are scared of it.

My Maine Coon girl, Senua, will come running from upstairs if she hears this thing on (and she'll hear it from what feels like miles away).. she loves it so much, but unfortunately it only lasted for about a week before the mechanism stopped working. There are slightly more expensive versions out there that actually keep working even if you have a heavy cat playing with it, so not worth the money.

My cat willow loves this. She can turn it on and off herself lol. The added butterflies are great so should last quite a while. Now she’s my most anxious cat so was surprised as out of them all I’d of thought she’d be most worried about the noise but no lol it’s hers lol.

The butterfly goes quite fast so if you have a nervous cat it can spook them a little but my younger cat loves it

Great fun but my kitten flattens the wire supporting the butterfly in minutes leaving it dragging on the floor. I tried to support the wire by wrapping a straw around it but it only helps a little.

Brilliant toy and cats loved it but after 10 minutes it stopped working. Checked batteries etc but it’s the actual mechanism that spins the butterfly has stopped

Unfortunately even though I put the batteries required, the mechanism doesn't work unless held at a jaunty angle. But, my cat doesn't seem to mind much. He loves the fact the butterfly gets knocked down and springs straight back up. Really seems to tire him out, which says a lot.

Both my 2 Maine Coons love this toy and play for hours with it.

My two Siamese Cats really love this toy. They have played with it for three weeks, the original butterfly is still holding together. (You get 4 butterflies with the toy, and replacements are really good value and available from Zooplus)

My cats love this. They are on their second one and it's good you can get spare butterflies now. They sit tapping it until you turn it on! The original one turned off after 3 minutes but it looks like they have changed the toy as I have now tried 3 others and the timer function doesn't work an any of them, which makes me think they design has changed and there isn't a timer function anymore. Shame as it was a useful feature but doesn't stop my cats loving it.
