This food was too low fat for my active dog, would be good for weight control
The vet recommended Burns as a hypoallergenic alternative after the manufacturer of the food my active spaniel was on previously changed the formulation of his old food.
Burns is VERY low fat. Although I fed him much more than the package (and a Burns rep) recommended he was getting so hungry between meals he lost a lot of weight and was vomiting bile.
We thought it was a medical issue, but after changing to a Hills food, no more vomiting, his weight increased, and his coat is gleaming.
