With most things I buy, the feline one just looks at it, then at me as if to say 'what the hell did you get that for?' & goes back to using her old/damaged/smelly option. However, finally I have got her something that met with immediate approval; she jumped up onto the top while I had a shower, checked out all of the cubby holes & had a scratch, a few times (it is plenty tall enough). This scratcher is very well made, looks gorgeous & comfy and i'm glad I chose this (out of this or the Natural)

My Max absolutely loves this although he was very wary of the top seat and wouldn't use it so I put a blanket over it and he was up and away! He has plenty of room to nod off and curl up. Worth every penny. 😻

My cats absolutely love this!!! Only thing is the Velcro doesn’t really hold the bed in place so I had to buy more Velcro and sew it on but it’s so amazing I still give it 5 star! Brilliant buy! My cats love it so much!!

I love and so do my boys, wanted something large enough for my two British Shorthairs and this is perfect. Well worth every penny.

This was a HUGE cat barrel - my male ragdoll is a little lost in the various cubby holes and can happily stretch out in the top bed. He was almost immediately into it, exploring and scratching and woke us up at stupid o-clock this morning, playing happily away. A real hit

This is by far the best value cat home / scratching post / play centre ever. I'm 5'7" and the XL one comes up to my midriff (just under bust) it's wide and round and very very sturdily built. The scratching won't affect the look because this thing is built to last. Better than a Barratt home haha! I had this at a reduced price (XL for £54.99) make sure you get it for this price and I promise you, you will be delighted. About my cats? Ah well, they are now in my bed, and I'm curled up in this! J

This large barrel is just what I needed for the two cats I have! We have it at the back door and they love to climb it and sit in it.

This has only just arrived and my cat has yet to discover the scratching side of it (which is why I bought it). However he is sitting in the top enclosed bit so I feel it as a success. Perfect size for my big, long cat!

My 9month old kitten managed to de-ball all three levels in under 24 hours. The rest of the quality remains to be seen...

My cat is always so fussy about beds I buy her, but this has definitely been worth every penny she's in it most nights :-D

Bought this as a scratching post but my two never use if for scratching but love to sit on the top and look out of the window. They don't seem too keen on the lower levels. Bought 6 months ago and looks as good as new, but that's because they don't tend to scratch it I guess.Quite large so be sure you have the space for it!

I ordered two of these to replace an old one that had served my cats well for years. When it arrived I thought they had sent 2 defective barrels as there was no bed on the top, just plain wood. Then I found the beds hidden in one of the holes. Tiny strips of Velcro are meant to attach the bed which is completely inadequate. The bed is smaller than the barrel so you can see the wood and it just looks tatty and it unsafe. Why did they have to redesign what was the best barrel on the market.

I have 2 9kg Bengal boys and this is holding up great. Had a conventional cat tree that snapped to pieces. This is sturdy and doesn't move when they jump on and off etc. Also it's huge! I nearly died when it got delivered haha

excellent product! i had two of these a few years ago but the bed on top was not removable which made it impossible to wash, now you can remove the bed and wash it which is much better. i find it very secure but for those who said it wasn't attached very well, you can just get some stick on velcro strips and put it on around the edge. personally i found the amount supplied fine and my cats are very large. much improved with the bed removable.

We bought one of these to replace the one purchased a few years ago. I was very disappointed to find that they had changed the design to bed at the top. It's no longer a built-in bed as part of the whole thing, but now a detachable pad with a few velcro strips to hold it very loosely in place. It's not secure, it moves about, it looks rough and scruffy.....and my cats don't feel safe to climb up to it because it's unsecured. Such a shame because they loved the previous one!

Brought this over a year ago, I have four cat's needed something that would last. Two small lady's & two big male's they all love playing & sleeping in it, scratching it's still going strong well worth the money.

I was so looking forward to receiving this scratching barrel, as my friend had ordered one for her cats last yr and I decided when it was time to renew some of my trees, I would definitely include one of these. As I unpacked it, my heart sank. At first I thought it hadn't been finished properly as I could see wood on both the top and the base. Then relieved, as I realised the bed part was inside one of the holes. BUT, the massive disappointment came when I noticed just how this bed fastens onto the top!! FIVE TINY STRIPS OF VELCRO IN THE CENTRE OF TOP. This does not hold the bed securely, and it's like the bed is too small for the top anyway as you can clearly see the wooden base too. It's so loose, all my cats have inspected it and concluded it's not safe to jump on as the bed just slips about on it. I can't believe it. It looks stupid. It's not safe. And most annoyingly, it's not the same diogenes black barrel xl that my friend purchased last year. Hers was the same as the picture, the bed was securely fixed into place and actually FIT the barrel. FIVE TINY STRIPS OF VELCRO to secure this bed in place is just ridiculous.
