The Boxer is a calm and balanced dog, but still likes to play and romp around and is well suited for a household with children. He has a strong attachment to his master and is a good and fearless guard and protection dog. However, his dynamic nature requires proper joint care and diet. Characteristics such as its brachycephalic skull and special tooth arrangement have a complicating effect on food intake. Although the Boxer is calm and even-tempered, he is prone to heart problems - necessitating a health-conscious diet and regular check-ups with a veterinarian.
